Role-play Etiquette
(Role Play guide}

This really shouldn’t need saying, but it seems like one of the more common problems...stay In Character (IC) at all times. Do not drop Out Of Character (OOC) when on a Role-Play area. If you absolutely must say something OOC in the presence of people who are IC, then enclose the OOC comment in parenthesis;(Brackets).

All Out of Character topics should be posted in the OOC area's.

Never use OOC information IC in any way. The best example I can give is...just because you can see someone’s name hanging over their head in the game, your character wouldn’t know that character’s name unless someone had told you in-game.

Never assume someone will react in a certain way just because you think they should. Always give others the chance to react in their own way, and don’t get upset if the reaction isn’t what you expected.

Powerplaying :
Power Playing is when you control someone elses character
Any action you perform on someone else’s character, no matter what the action might be, should be phrased as an attempt. By making an attempt instead of just doing it outright, you give the character’s player the chance to consent to the action or avoid it if it’s something they’d rather not have happen to their character. (Unless prior discussion and permissions are given)

GodModing:
God Moding is making a character all powerful and all knowing, who can perform acts that seem more powerful than the power levels would allow.
Avoid god-like abilities for your characters.
Role-playing isn’t about who can make up the best super powers for their characters, it’s about the personalities of the characters. Any character that is ridiculously powerful or has a perfect personality is going to be fairly boring to RP with and will end up being mostly ignored by others.

One Liners:
One Liners are well just that, one line of text on a post.
They do nothing to advance the story.
May also include but is not limited to One Sentence. Two or More Sentences that still make-up less than one paragraph of text. One liners are frowned upon because they are short, offer no detail, nor any insight into the character.
Strive to write as much as you can, a little description goes a long way.

Frosts/Frosting:
This is when you leave a Roleplay hanging, effectively 'freezing' or 'frosting' the goings on. It is understandable if you cannot, for some reason or another, gain access to the internet all the time, but please, don't render another RPer waiting for long periods of time for your reply. Not only is it discourteous, but also rather irritating.
You can perhaps find a way to let others know you will not be around for a time and they can continue or choose to *suspend* the RP for a short time.

Blanking or Inking
When, for some reason or another, you completely ignore a person's character during the RP, effectively "blotting" or “Blanking” them out.
Perhaps you have a personal dislike or problem with the person, but it still is impolite, and can affect the RP if other people need your character to interact with theirs.
OOC problems or fights should never be brought into the IC role-play and so keep your personal OOC dislikes out of the thread.

Consideration:
Be considerate of plots going on around you and READ the posts.
I cannot stress enough how important it is to READ OTHER POSTS!
A good Rule of Thumb is this: you should read ALL of the posts that happen there. I don’t care if it’s 1 or 50 - or if they’re made by a person you’re not RP’ing with -because it’s incredibly rude to try to interact with someone who ignores you or just up and suddenly decides to do something else, only because they were to lazy to read the posts. So, just because your character isn't specifically mentioned in a post doesn't mean you should ignore it! It’s very irritating to be, say, holding a Moondance under a full moon and have someone come waltzing in talking about the blazing noonday sun.

Thank you
